
8 SCANDINAVIA NURSING EXPERTS TEACH IN QUALITATIVE RESEARCH WORKSHOP
Banda Aceh – As many as 8 nursing professors from Scandinavian countries became resource persons and facilitators for the International Workshop entitled Nursing Research, Research Methods and Developmental Work which was held for 5 days from 5-9 December 2022 at Campus of the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Aceh Darul Imarah Aceh Besar.
The event was officially opened by the Director of the Aceh Poltekkes T. Iskandar Faisal, S.Kp, M.Kes who was represented by Dr. Abdurrahaman, S.Kp, M.Pd as Deputy Director for Administration, General Affairs, and Personnel who is also the Governor Board of the Aceh Ministry of Health Poltekkes. In his remarks, he expressed his gratitude for the appointment of Poltekkes as the host of this International Workshop and for this collaboration that has been established so that it can continue in the future because it is urgently needed to increase the capacity and quality of lecturers and strengthen cooperation with foreign universities.
Also present was the Head of the Department of Nursing as well as Quality Control, Dr. Dewi Marianthi, S.Kp, M.Kep. Sp.Mat who said that the activity which involved 4 countries and 8 universities was included in the Work Package (WP) 2.3.1 of the Capacity Building In Nursing Education in Indonesia (CABNEI) project funded by The Erasmus+ Program of The European Union since the beginning of the year 2021 until mid-2023 later.
According to Dr. Hermansyah SKM MPH as the Change Agents Coordinator, the 8 professors who attended this session came from Scandinavian countries namely Birthe Thorø, Lea Deichmann Nielsen, and Mette Ruhlmann from University College South (UC Syd) Denmark. Desirée Burenlind, and Johanna Svärd from Karlstad University (KAU) Sweden. Margret Lepp, Randi Elisabeth Martinsen, and Brian David Unis of Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN) Norway). This activity was also facilitated by 8 Change Agents from 4 health education institutions in Aceh Province.
They provided material and shared their experiences with 26 Nurse Educators consisting of 8 lecturers from Faculty of Nursing USK, 3 people from Faculty of Public Health UNMUHA, 5 people from the Ibnu Sina Nursing Academy in Sabang City, and 10 people from the Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh. The expected end result of this activity is an increase in the knowledge and abilities of lecturers in research qualitative nursing , methods study and its development so that it can be conveyed to students and able to conduct qualitative research and produce articles that can be published in reputable international journals.
